California finally got back to me this afternoon. Long story short, they really liked me but gave the job to someone with more experience. It was a very nice phone call, though, and I’m keeping my eyes on the bright side.
So with that in mind, I thought I’d post about a few things I’m looking forward to about staying in NJ/NY for the foreseeable future. In no particular order:
1) A friend from Pgh plans to visit so we can go to RennFest together. I haven’t been in a few years! She gets really into it, makes costumes for every theme weekend and all that. Should be fun.
2) Going to my nephews’ sports games.
3) Volunteering with Project Sunshine, Habitat for Humanity, and other organizations.
4) Seeing how the Farmer’s Markets grow in the Fall.
5) Possibly photographing more sports games at Central Park.
6) Craft meetups, if I can ever figure out how to get to Brooklyn in time for them!
7) Making friends – most of the people my age seem to live in the City, but I’ll find ways to meet them.
8 – Having friends visit and impressing them by actually knowing my way around the subway system.
9) Possibly joining this local running group a fellow Habitat volunteer told me about (cute guy – I’m looking forward to getting to know him, too! :-p )
10) Day trips to nearby places. I’m suddenly near states I’ve never ventured into. Who knows what’s hiding in Connecticut, for instance?!
