The last few weekends I’ve been fairly busy, and my new work schedule has left me happy to get alone time at the end of the workday. So I managed to forget completely that an entire day to myself is usually too lonely. Saturday was rough that way, but I’m very aware that this is something I can control – by making sure I schedule in social stuff each weekend – and I’m seeing it as a learning experience – a good reminder of my needs and my respnsibility to fill them. Now that the weekend is almost over, I suddenly feel very driven to get done all the things I should have done this weekend. I really am much more motivated by a challenge – getting a lot done in less time – than by an easy paced list.
