Omek Mikra is in the pre-stage battle: Neither Pages nor Word for Mac will use the Hebrew fonts correctly. I spoke to a lovely lady in Nova Scotia re Word, but she was unable to help me. Now I’m on hold for Pages. The waiting music is Vertical Horizon, I think- odd- Mac always has fringe-pop that is just a few years too old. So I’m steeping my tea and settling in for the duration.
Finding renter’s and auto insurance is likewise in the early stages: I made the first phone call today for quotes and it resulted in a dizzying number of introductions to my vocabulary. I decided to re-coup with the troops and prepare for the next attempt. In other words… Mum, please translate the conversation I had with the insurance person!
I made clafoutis- Dad, in his own subtle way, requested it. I am in love with the cherry pitter. It’s up there with the wheel in terms of inventions, in my opinion. Also tried a new recipe Mum picked out- a zuchini pie with a potato crust. It was well received. I’ve realized that by the time I get to Pittsburgh, I won’t have much time left for the Farmer’s Markets- and I won’t have my own kitchen to stockpile local produce in the freezer. I’ll have to spend the winter in hibernation, plotting my recipes for when the produce season returns, and survive on store-bought supplies.
Current Tea Obsession: Chai, with a touch of soy milk and a large dash of honey. Though this may be because we’re out of my other kinds of tea.(Yes, Mum, I know! I’ll just add it to the shopping list.)
Current Music Obsession: Daughtry’s What About Now… thanks, Aliza!
